Are Electric Boilers Better for the Environment?

Government reports have shown that around 17% of all of the UK’s carbon emissions come from our need to heat our homes. Leading the government and many homeowners looking to choose the most carbon efficient and environmentally friendly way of heating their homes.

Electric boilers and Electric Combi Boilers do not produce any carbon emissions at all – which is unique to electric boilers, other types of boilers such as oil and gas boilers do emit carbon emissions.

Of course, producing the electricity which powers electric boilers does produce carbon emissions. As time goes on however, and the UK looks to produce electricity in a more carbon efficient way, harnessing the power of renewables – there carbon footprint of electric boilers will reduce, as the electricity which powers them becomes increasingly from renewable sources.
